Following on from the inaugural production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat", the decision was taken to mount a fullscale production of "Oliver" within a working theatre. Working in association with Nhiam Dowling, head of the Department of Theatre and Television at the Manchester Metropolitan University, the company moved into MMU's Capitol Theatre in Didsbury for the production.

The hugely successful show ran from Tuesday, July 9th to Saturday July 13th with a cast of fifty five performers, twelve musicians, thirteen stage crew plus sound and lighting engineers and support crew. It was a huge undertaking for a relatively new company, but provided a great experience for performers and audiences alike. It proved to be the last full scale musical production the theatre would host before its demolition to make way for new apartments.
